IMSA to separate LMP2 and DPi into separate classes

The France family can't have those foreign cars beating their DPIs

Friday evening at Road America IMSA President Scott Atherton is likely to announce the DPi and LMP2 classes will be separated, as well as significant cost-cutting measures in GT Daytona.

Sportscar365 thinks that GTD could feature a three-tiered championship next year, with separate titles for the Michelin Endurance Cup, sprint races and overall season, which would allow teams multiple options based on available budgets.
