Formula 1 News: Superior McLarens bury everyone in Dutch GP FP1
No one can touch the superior Rob Marshall designed McLaren F1 car. #4 McLaren driver Lando Norris turned a lap of 1m10.278s to top the opening practice session for the 2025 Duch GP at Zandvoort.

The only driver to get remotely close to Lando Norris was his McLaren teammate #81 Oscar Piastri who finished 0.292s behind.
Lance Stroll, running late when the track was faster, was this for Aston Martin, 0.501s behind Norris.
His teammate, Fernando Alonso, was a strong 4th, 0.563s behind Norris, but his time was set much earlier in the session.
Alex Albon rounded out the top-5 for Williams, 0.893s behind Norris.
Max Verstappen was 6th in the #1 Red Bull RB21 dog, 0.940s behind Norris. Underscoring what adog the RB21 is, Yuki Tsunoda finished 1.848s behind Norris in the #22 Red Bull.
Verstappen ended FP1 stuck in the gravel after he ran straight on at Turn 1 following a practice start.

Mercedes’ George Russell and the second Williams of Carlos Sainz Jr. were 7th and 8th.
Gabriel Bortoleto and Pierre Gasly rounded out the top-10 for Sauber and Alpine respectively.
Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton were only 14th and 15th for Ferrari.
