Michael Waltrip Racing could have something up its sleeve at a news conference scheduled for Friday where David Reutimann’s 2008 plans figure to be addressed. ThatsRacin.com hears rumors that Waltrip’s team is about to follow the trend of partnering with an investor. In this case, it’s a New York-based asset management firm called Fortress Investment Group that earlier this year broke the mold in its industry by becoming the first hedge fund to go public. Team general manager Ty Norris declined comment on that Wednesday, saying the future of Michael Waltrip Racing would be discussed Friday.
