Wurz to lose F1 ride

Frank Williams has given his clearest hint yet that Alex Wurz will be dropped at the end of the season. Although the Drivers' Standings does not indicate a massive disparity, the likeable Austrian has been made to look distinctly ordinary by teammate Nico Rosberg.

Asked in China to comment specifically on his drivers' performances this season, including that of test driver Kazuki Nakajima, Williams responded: "I think Nico is a star of the future, Alex has been very reliable but I am not sure whether he is going to race again next year.

"Nakajima – too soon to say if he will have an outstanding future or a medium future in F1, but I think he is Formula One material."
