F1 testing may continue at Elvington

(GMM) F1 testing may continue at York's Elvington Airfield this year after an appeal was delayed until January.

A court decision last year ruled that noisy formula one testing on the airfield's runways must be limited to just ten days per year.

But Elvington Park Ltd appealed the decision, and the court hearing was provisionally scheduled to be held this week.

The local publication York Press, however, reports that the case has now been adjourned until January 14, with the court's original restrictions not able to apply until after the appeal.

One local estimated that between 20 and 30 days of F1 testing have already taken place at Elvington in 2007.
