Donington might bid on British GP

(GMM) Donington Park, the scene of Ayrton Senna's legendary victory in 1993, could bid to become the new home of the British grand prix in 2011.

It was reported earlier this year that the circuit, which is located in Leicestershire (UK), would develop the site further following the recent renovations for its round of the MotoGP series.

Any GP bid for Donington would be amid the backdrop of F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone's consistent criticism of the sport's current British venue, Silverstone.

"As for F1, we're not ruling anything out or in," leaseholder Simon Gillett is quoted as saying by Motorsport News.

"We will talk to anyone –- anything is possible for three years' time."
