Massa ‘lost his temper’

(GMM) A burst of Latin temper probably derailed the Brazilian's quest for grand prix victory in the Malaysian grand prix.

That is the belief of Willi Weber; manager of F1's retired seven time world champion Michael Schumacher, who last year raced alongside 25-year-old Massa at Ferrari.

Despite starting from pole, Massa fell behind both McLarens at the start of Sunday's race and outbraked himself trying to recover a lost position to English rookie Lewis Hamilton.

"I know him well," Weber told the news agency Deutsche Presse- Agentur.

"He probably simply lost his temper."

Weber, however, said that the Italian squad is likely to bounce back in Bahrain this weekend.

He said: "It was always one of Ferrari's biggest strengths; turning things around really quickly."

Weber also insisted that Schumacher, now an unspecified 'advisor' to Ferrari and its drivers, will not be scolding Massa for the error.

"It is not Michael's role to tell off a driver when he makes a mistake," the German added.
