Rivals to protest STR, RBR, Super Aguri

(GMM) The talk in the Albert Park paddock this morning is that Williams and Spyker are preparing to launch official protests against the legality of the Toro Rosso, Red Bull and Super Aguri cars after the qualifying session at 2pm.

It is set to be the culmination of the bitter pre-season row about customer cars, where a compromise was not reached prior to the teams' presenting their cars for scrutineering and participating in official track action at the Melbourne circuit.

It was not previously believed that Red Bull would be involved, but – like sister squad Toro Rosso – the Austrian squad claims that its 2007 car is designed by a third party company, Red Bull Technology.

"They can do whatever they want," Super Aguri's defiant managing director Daniele Audetto, referring to the looming Williams and Spyker threat, said earlier this weekend.

"We cannot stop them doing it. If they have something to complain about then they can just do it.

"Then we will see if they are right or they are wrong."
