FIA set to slam Super Aguri

UPDATE The article below has been corrected. We made a mistake in comparing the Super Aguri to the Toyota when in fact Super Aguri is an offshoot of the Honda team. A side shot of the Honda has been added and it's clear the two cars are as near 100% identical as the human eye can make out.

12/16/06 Customer cars are not yet allowed in F1 and when the interim for 2007 Super Aguri F1 car appeared for testing at Jerez recently it appears, but for one minor aero appendage difference, to be an exact duplicate of Honda's 2006 car. It was the talk at recent testing.

Honda left and Super Aguri right – Can you tell the difference?

Honda, and especially Toyota, are not capable of producing a winning car in F1, so it appears they have both created a junior team that can run a duplicate car so they can side skirt the testing rules by using the junior team to test more variations on the same car in the attempt to make a car that can run at the front.

We are seeing the Red Bull team trying to pull a similar stunt with the Toro Rosso team. Expect this issue to come to a head in F1 before long.
