Honda tips Davidson for Aguri seat

(GMM) Honda boss Nick Fry says he would be 'pleased' if test driver Anthony Davidson lands a race seat for the 2007 season at Super Aguri.

''Obviously both (team owner) Aguri (Suzuki) and Anthony have to decide,'' said Briton Fry, ''(but) he deserves a chance.''

He told f1grandprix.it: ''He's done a great job for us and he deserves to show the world what he can do.''

Should 27-year-old Davidson, who for six years has been Honda's primary tester, leave the Brackley-based squad at the end of the season, Fry hinted that countryman James Rossiter might be a good replacement.

And he added: ''Probably we need someone else as well, maybe someone with more experience.

''We are open to offers.''
