Rossi to GP2?

(GMMf1NET) Valentino Rossi could spend a year in the 'GP2' series before moving into formula one with Ferrari, according to the latest paddock rumor.

With the MotoGP champion unlikely to do much F1 testing during the agreed 36-day limit this year, the Italian has reportedly been told by Ferrari that the junior category – run as support races at many F1 grands prix each season – would provide ideal open-wheeler seat time and vital experience of racing action on four wheels.

''There are many ways to gather experience of driving a (racing) car,'' Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn told La Gazzetta dello Sport, ''including GP2.''
