Hunter-Reay IRL bound

UPDATE #2 With Marco Andretti supposedly signing with AGR, Ryan Hunter-Reay won't be driving for them in the IRL. 12/09/05 According to the IndyStar, Ryan Hunter-Reay visited Andretti Green Racing last Thursday. He appears IRL bound and we suspect he will jump at the vacated Dan Wheldon seat. 12/04/05 Rumor has it that Ryan Hunter-Reay has an offer from Andretti Green Racing to run in the IRL in 2006. Although loyal to Champ Car, no one has offered him a decent ride for 2006 after struggling so much in 2005. If this rumor is true, we assume Hunter-Reay will jump at the opportunity to move to the best team in the IRL and into Dan Wheldon's vacated seat, arguably the best seat in the IRL. He'll even have a shot at winning the most coveted prize in open wheel racing, the Indy 500. If true, Champ Car's loss of another American driver is the IRL's gain. If Jimmy Vasser retires, Champ Car will be left with one American (Allmendinger) with not a single win to his name…..as the revolving door of drivers takes with it Hunter-Reay fans.
