Will Champ Car adopt the new F1 wing?

Dear AutoRacing1.com, Those new proposed wing designs for F1 that allow for more passing look fantastic. Any chance that Champ Car can make a few tweaks to their new Panoz car design to include such wing? God knows that they could use more passing (especially in those tight street races like Surfers). Dear Drew, Funny you should ask. When I was speaking to Tony Cotman this past weekend in Surfers he said, "The beauty of the new car being announced so early is that we have time to incorporate neat things we always wanted to do but could not. We're open to all suggestions." If the new F1 wing works as F1 claims, I suppose it's worth a look by Champ Car and Elan, but realize it won't be as effective on the slow street circuits as compared to the high-speed F1 road circuits. It would be effective on ovals. Can't say I'm particularly fond of the looks of that new dual-wing setup, but if it allows for more passing it may be worth the sacrifice. Mark C.
