Newey might switch – report
Adrian Newey has indicated that he might switch from McLaren to a rival formula one team in 2006. Amid earlier speculation that Williams may have wooed the highly lauded aerodynamicist and technical director, Ron Dennis apparently also fended off Newey's desire for a sabbatical and secured his service.
It is understood, however, that the Briton's current McLaren deal only runs until January.
Newey told Autosport: ''I'll certainly be in formula one next year, but that does not necessarily mean I'll be at McLaren.''
The highly lauded car designer, however, added that a team switch is still 'unlikely'.
Thursday's edition of the specialist British magazine, meanwhile, also mused that FIA boss Max Mosley could be facing a team principals' vote of 'no confidence' in Monday's meeting of the F1 Commission.
The motion, however, would not immediately endanger the Briton's role in the governing body.
