Kahne eyes Indy 500

Kasey Kahne, top-level NASCAR racer with Evernham Motorsports, hinted Tuesday that he hopes to make a try at the Indianapolis 500-Mile Race. Kahne, former USAC midget champion, helped run his family sprint-car team out of Indianapolis, that team now located in North Carolina. He continues to run occasional USAC and Outlaws races. Asked if he had a chance to watch this year's Indy 500 while cooped with NASCAR at Charlotte, he said, "I watched pretty much all of it. I had a few meet-and-greets to do during it, but I was able to watch most of the 500. It's such an exciting race. It's exciting to watch every part of it. "I enjoyed it when I used to go and watch, and now I watch it on TV. I would hope to get an opportunity to race in that race in the near future." SPEEDTV.com
