04/28/05 According to the Toronto Star, Eric Jensen has approached former Champ Car World Series driver Christian Fittipaldi for a one-off drive at the Monterrey, Mexico race in place of Fabrizio del Monte who struggled at Long Beach. "At the end of the day I'm running a business and I have to pay the bills," Jensen told the Canadian newspaper. “The more money I can bring in the better it is for the team, the better I can make things; I can get more spare parts and do more testing."
“If the conditions were right, I’d love to do it," Fittipaldi, who drove in the CCWS from 1995 to 2002, told Autosport magazine. “But I wouldn’t be able to do a whole season, because I have made other commitments," [Editor's Note: He has a contract to drive in the Brazilian stock car series].
