Major Announcement Scheduled for Brickyard 400

UPDATE This rumor is upgraded to 'fact' today. Allstate announced a title sponsorship deal for the Brickyard 400. The August race, which will be renamed the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard, will have a title sponsor for the first time in its history. Along with the Indy sponsorship, Allstate also announced its official partnership with NASCAR, becoming the official life, home and auto insurance company of NASCAR. The multi-year, multimillion-dollar deal will give Allstate exclusivity in the insurance category. See Hot News page for full story. 04/27/05 Word is that a major announcement of historical and economic significance regarding the Brickyard 400 will be made at 1 p.m. (local time) Thursday, April 28 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Rumors suggest another race could be added to that weekend's schedule, but that is unconfirmed.
