‘Go9’ may break down – Brawn

Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn has defended the team's decision to test unrestricted in 2005. The Briton admitted at Imola that the highly charged topic, with Ferrari on one side and a disgruntled 'group of nine' on the other, is 'emotive.'

''I'd prefer if there wasn't the friction … on this aspect,'' said RB. ''But we tried to find a solution and … they stopped inviting us to their meetings.''

Maranello-based Ferrari, then – with two private test circuits – decided to run as much as they want. Ross also hinted that the 'group of nine' appear to be straining. ''There's a dispute between them,'' Brawn revealed, ''as to whether a V8 (2006 engine) test is in their 30 days or not. ''Several of them say it's not, some say it is.''
