UPDATE #2 Kenny Brack won’t be making his comeback at the Brickyard with Morris Nunn’s team this year. “We were working on a sponsor to run together but it’s not going to happen," said Brack. “It’s too bad because I think we could have made a good team. I’d still love to drive but I have no interest unless I’ve got a chance to be competitive, and I’m not sure there’s anything left out there. So I may just watch the race from my couch." Nunn, who stopped running his full-time IRL operation earlier this year but still owns a couple of Panoz chassis, hasn’t abandoned his plans to race at Indy. “It’s a shame we (Brack) couldn’t work something out with Kenny," said Nunn. “But we’re not done yet. We may still do Indy."
Autosport Magazine 01/31/05 Morris Nunn's five-year run as a car owner is over, although he's still leaving the door open for this May. Nunn has sold his Dallaras to Ron Hemelgarn, an original IRL owner who is coming back this season with rookie Paul Dana and Toyota. "I've still got a couple of G-Forces and, if I could put together something competitive, I'd like to run Indianapolis one more time, that would be a good way to go out," said the 65-year-old Englishman, who started his own CART team in 2000 after engineering Alex Zanardi and Juan Montoya to three consecutive CART championships from 1997-1999 and winning Indy with Emerson Fittipaldi in 1989. Nunn talked with Tomas Scheckter, Patrick Carpentier and Barron about '05 but all had commitments so he opted to pack it in and head for the golf course with his wife, Kathryn, who started an Infiniti Pro Series team last year (scoring three wins with P.J. and James Chesson) but recently sold all her cars and equipment……….It was believed that Tony George had purchased Tom Kelley's IRL cars and equipment for his step-son, Ed Carpenter, but evidently that project is on hold because of some legal proceedings. If Kenny Brack is serious about also making the Indy 500 his last hurrah, could he wind up with Mr. Nunn?
SPEEDTV.com 12/30/04 The following IRL teams have one foot in the grave for 2005 and the backhoe is filling the hole. Tony George is going to have to open his wallet to fund their survival or Honda and Toyota are going to have to send over more Japanese yen:
