Another weak year in IPS

2005 is shaping up to be another weak year for the Infiniti Pro Series. Only six cars participated in Friday's Menards Infiniti Pro Series test in Homestead. IRL president Brian Barnhart said 12 to 14 should be at next month's test at Phoenix. Remember when CART had solid fields in both Toyota Atlantic and Indy Lights? What happened? The same thing that happened to Indy Car. Tony George came along and created a competing series, split the sport in half and essentially killed it. We can only shake our head in amazement. But we can't only blame Tony. All the engine manufacturers, teams and drivers who broke rank with CART and went to the IRL all have blood on their hands. They all contributed to the demise of the sport. They will now live with the consequences.
