Brandon Jones Scores First-Career Xfinity Series Pole

Brandon Jones collected his first-career NASCAR Xfinity Series pole in Saturday's qualifying session for the Powershares QQQ 300 at Daytona International Speedway.
Jones was quickest in both rounds of Saturday's session, clicking off a lap of 48.788 seconds (184.472 mph) in the second and final round to knock Ryan Reed from the top spot and secure his first pole position in his 39th-career start. It is also his career-best showing at Daytona in just his third start at the 2.5-mile oval.
Ryan Reed was the second qualifier with a lap of 48.846 seconds (184.253 mph). Brennan Poole (48.917/183.985) was third, followed by rookie Daniel Hemric (48.952/183.854) and Ty Dillon (48.982/183.741).
Morgan Shepherd, Mike Harmon, Stephen Leitch and Mark Thompson all failed to qualify for the event.
