Martinsville Speedway "will have lights added next season." Construction is scheduled to begin the day after the Oct. 30 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at the track. Track President Clay Campbell said that the LED lights "will be used as an 'insurance policy' in case the race is delayed or goes later."

He estimated the project will cost $5M and added that it "would be paid for" by track owner ISC. Martinsville's spring race in '17 will be at 2:00pm ET, and the fall race will start at 1:00pm. Next year is the track's 70th anniversary season. NBCSPORTS.com
