Dover Xfinity Series race postponed (Update)

UPDATE Sunday Weather at Dover: Isolated showers. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 76. Southeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming south in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

The NASCAR XFINITY Race is now scheduled for 10:00am/et (CNBC)

10/01/16 NASCAR has postponed Saturday's scheduled Xfinity Series race at Dover International Raceway due to weather.

A steady mist that hung over the track for most of the day forced NASCAR to throw in the towel just after 4:30 pm. The race is now scheduled to take place Sunday at 10 am, with the Sprint Cup Series race to begin as scheduled at 2pm. Television coverage for the Xfinity Series race will be on CNBC.

Persistent rain has plagued track activities all week, forcing NASCAR to cancel Friday's Sprint Cup practice as well as qualifying for Sunday's Citizen Soldier 400. Sunday's forecast is slightly more favorable with a 20-percent chance of showers.
