Context Creates Design For Success With Byrd Team
Context Design (www.context-design.com) was established in 1998 as a small, client-focused landscape architecture and land planning firm near Indianapolis, Indiana. Context’s award-winning site design studio is passionate about helping clients to create meaningful spaces and experiences that connect people to the land. As the company has evolved over 18 years of practice, the studio’s reach now includes projects in the Midwest, Southeast, and Southwest regions of the country. While the size and capacity of the firm has certainly grown, its focus on delivering excellent service has remained.
“Context Design is excited to be a part of this incredible celebration—the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500! The opportunity to extend our business relationship with the Byrd family through Jonathan Byrd’s Racing is such a natural fit," indicated Alyssa Prazeau, Managing Partner of Context.
Fred Prazeau, Partner with Context, added, “Above all else, we are a company built upon relationships. While getting to know the Byrd family as we have worked together on some of their exciting new projects, it became clear to us that the shared values of our companies could transcend site design projects."
Fred continued: “I have vivid memories as a youngster of how racing in May captivated the spirit of our entire community. Whether it was watching dirt fly with Gurney, Vogler, and Bettenhausen at the ‘Hoosier Hundred’ or hearing Tom Carnegie chant, ‘It’s a new track record,’ as Rick Mears or Tom Sneva blazed across the yard of bricks, everyone was immersed in the spectacle of racing. It is our pleasure to play a small part in this big anniversary for IMS and the Indianapolis community along with Jonathan Byrd Racing."
Bryan Clauson echoed the sentiments expressed by Fred Prazeau: “Every year, the Indy 500 is a celebration, and there’s nothing in the world like it. This year though, the energy around the event is reaching a level that I’ve never seen, and it’s awesome to see so many people and companies wanting to have a role in it. I think that’s especially evidenced by what you are seeing with our program for Indy. I’m excited to welcome Fred, Alyssa and everyone at Context Design to the Jonathan Byrd’s team, and I can’t wait to get on track on May 16th!"
Continuing that theme, team principal David Byrd added, “Over the last several months, I’ve come to learn that Context Design is an absolute leader in their field, so being able to add them to our program, and to experience their enthusiasm to not only be involved in the Indy 500 but also their excitement to be joining our team, is pretty gratifying. We’ll do our absolute best to reward their trust in us!"
Over the last several years, Context has worked with the Town of Speedway on a variety of parks, streetscape, and mixed-use developments. “Being involved in meaningful redevelopment projects is an important part of our mission. We have been fortunate to collaborate on both public and private reinvestment projects happening in Speedway, and we look forward to seeing how those investments reshape the community," stated Greg Wade, Principal of the firm.
