Formula Renault 3.5 inks new Monaco event deal

The Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM) and Renault have signed a new three-year deal which ensures the Formula Renault 3.5 Championship will continue support the Monaco Grand Prix.

As the curtain raiser for the F1 Grand Prix, since its inception, the Formula Renault 3.5 Series race has become a major event in the open-wheel panorama.

Succeeding Formula Renault, present since 1972, then the French carmaker’s single-make 'sedan' categories, the F1 driver development program proposed by Renault Sport offers hopefuls a chance to shine in front of the sport's powerbrokers on a legendary circuit.

The 2015 edition will benefit from a new format with the Friday practice session, the Saturday qualifying and the race on Sunday just prior to the GP.

Jean-Pascal Dauce, Competition Director, Renault Sport Technologies: "We share the same vision of motor racing with the ACM. That is enough to explain the success of our partnership for these many years! It is still just as pleasant, motivating and enthralling to work with such a professional structure. With our rich common past with the Automobile Club de Monaco, we look forward to new exciting chapters in our history."
