Mid-Ohio Friday wrap
Will Power was fastest in Friday’s second round of practice, narrowly edging out Scott Dixon and Ryan Hunter-Reay, who was third fastest. Rounding out the top 5 was Dario Franchitti and first-race rookie Luca Filippi.
Practice was halted for a few minutes after Tony Kanaan had a brief excursion into the turn 10 tire wall, breaking a front wing. It’s at least the second off of the week for Kanaan, who wound up 11th in the late practice.
All 24 teams took their turn on practice. Andretti Racing took 3 of the top 8 spots.
– Will Power was also fastest of the day, as the second session was around 1/4 second faster overall due to overcast skies.
– Takuma Sato continues to struggle. Sato damaged his car heavily in Wednesday practice, was 22nd out of 24 in late practice, and dead last in morning practice.
