Lime Rock announces 2013 schedule
He noted that it much resembles 2012’s but with a unique twist: its American Le Mans Series race is a three day event rather than the traditional two-day format that’s been in place since ALMS’ first visit in 2004.
“We’re excited about this," Barber said. “Because Independence Day next year falls on a Thursday, we can make the ALMS ‘weekend’ July 4, 5 and 6. That will let us create an even bigger, busier event, with multiple support series — including at least one with significant name recognition."
Barber also noted Grand-Am’s championship finale weekend at the end of September will be reprised in 2013.
“It was a huge success this year, no doubt. We’re looking forward to hosting the title-deciders again, during a beautiful time of the year."
Support-series races for the Trans-Am, Ferrari Challenge, ALMS and Grand-Am championship finale weekends are to be announced at a later date.
