Baltimore GP announces sponsors

UPDATE Sunoco was today named the Official Fuel of the Grand Prix of Baltimore. The most coveted real estate of the Grand Prix weekend – victory lane – will be known as the Sunoco Victory Lane, while pit lane will be known as Sunoco Pit Lane. Sunoco will also have a significant signage presence during the event, providing a visual backdrop for the race action between turns seven and eight, and the pedestrian bridge that will cross the track between turns eight and nine of the 2-mile, 12-turn race circuit through downtown Baltimore and the Inner Harbor area.

The Grand Prix of Baltimore sponsorship is the latest endeavor in a more than 40-year history of motorsports involvement for Sunoco. The company is the Official Fuel Partner of INDYCAR, and has been the Official Fuel of NASCAR since 2004. Sunoco Race Fuels can be found at more than 500 racetracks in the United States.

07/16/12 The Grand Prix of Baltimore today announced that Dr Pepper TEN will be its official soft drink partner as part of a multi-year agreement. Additionally, Giant Food of Landover, Md. has been named the official grocery store partner of the Grand Prix, scheduled for Labor Day weekend, Aug. 30 – Sept. 2, 2012. In recognition of the sponsorships, Saturday, Sept. 1 will be known as Dr Pepper TEN/Giant Day at the Grand Prix of Baltimore.

Dr Pepper TEN will activate its sponsorship in Giant stores throughout the region in the weeks leading up to the Grand Prix of Baltimore through a series of in-store personal appearances by racing legend Michael Andretti and Andretti Autosport IZOD IndyCar Series drivers Ryan Hunter-Reay, Marco Andretti and James Hinchcliffe. Michael Andretti's company, Andretti Sports Marketing, is promoting the Grand Prix of Baltimore in conjunction with locally owned Race On, LLC.

On-site at the Grand Prix, race fans will be able to test their racing skills on the "Dr Pepper TEN Test Track" and help raise funds for the Maryland Food Bank.
