Montoya retaliates on Stewart

A reader writes, Dear AR1.com, I’m an F1 guy but I figured I’d watch the last “Cup" race of the year and DIRTY racing is what I see. How NASCAR is the most popular series in the US boggles my ideas of sportsmanship and intelligence. Too much to ask I guess, for them or me, I’m not sure.

What Tony Stewart did to Juan Pablo Montoya (JPM) shows how emotionally immature Tony is (referring to Stewart spinning out Montoya, after Montoya nudged him)! First, JPM gave Stewart a ton of room on the prior corner, when he could have pinched him down a TON!!

The bump draft that JPM gave Stewart had no negative impact to him and was clearly accidental. Then… for Stewart to intentionally hit JPM and take him out of the race, makes Tony look incredibly immature. Worst yet, the announcers all said Tony hit JPM intentionally and my eyes told me the same thing. NASCAR should be ashamed of itself for allowing intentional contact.

As I write….., JPM retaliated and got a two lap penalty, as he should get for retaliating. Where is Stewarts penalty. This is why I just switched to watch the NFL. NASCAR is a circus. Bruce Guthrie
