zMax Dragway to host two NHRA events

The National Hot Rod Association has announced that they have added a second date for the zMax Dragway in Concord, NC for the 2010 NHRA Full Throttle series schedule.

The Speedway Motorsports, Inc.-owner facility hosted its inaugural event in 2008 to rave reviews from drivers and fans alike, dubbing it the “Bellagio of drag strips."

"This track deserves two dates," said 14-time national champion John Force. "I'm excited because we love to be here.

"We're all coming here and bringing our P.T. Barnum show. (Track owner) Bruton Smith gave us heaven and the Taj Mahal right here."

ZMax Dragway joins The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Auto Club Raceway at Pomona, Calif. to host two NHRA events in 2010.

The newly announced event will be held on March 25-28 with the Carolinas Nationals to be held on Sept. 16-19.
