HER Energy drink announced today a new partnership with Sam Schmidt Motorsports and Chip Ganassi Racing as the new sponsor of the No. 99 Dallara/Honda driven by Alex Lloyd in the 2009 Indianapolis 500. Lloyd was the fastest rookie on the track at last year's Indianapolis 500, which is fitting, as HER Energy is one of the fastest growing energy drinks on the market.

"HER is honored to be involved with two prestigious racing organizations." said Brett Jacobson, CEO of HER Enterprises Inc. "Both Chip and Sam are pioneers in the world of motorsports and their eye for talent over the past two decades is unprecedented. Alex Lloyd represents the qualities that HER strives to embody and with the support of Chip Ganassi Racing and Sam Schmidt Motorsports he is sure to become one of the next Indy greats."

HER, "Healthy Energy Revitalizer", is a refreshing pink lemonade flavor energy drink reminding women of all ages that a beverage can taste great, as well as deliver that much needed boost for whatever life throws your way. HER is fortified with B vitamins, calcium, ginseng, plus antioxidants while providing half the caffeine to achieve a sustained surge of energy without the typical crash of other energy drinks. So whether you're sweating it out at the gym, scrambling to gets the kids to school, cramming for that final exam or just need a pick me up, HER delivers the nutrition and energy necessary for every woman’s busy lifestyle.

The pink No. 99 HER Energy car made its debut on the famed oval during rookie/refresher practice on May 5. In addition, HER Energy, which is based in Hollywood, will be bringing a slice of its hometown to race weekend. HER Energy will kick off the big race weekend with a Pink Carpet event to benefit The Indianapolis Chapter of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation on Friday, May 22. At the invitation-only party, designers will transform a warehouse space into an interactive brand experience for drivers, teams, sponsors and celebrities.

"This is the first time in four years that I think Sam Schmidt Motorsports will have a really competitive entry, and we have HER Energy drink to thank for that support," said Sam Schmidt, owner of Sam Schmidt Motorsports. 'Chip Ganassi Racing prepared an incredible car and we're very excited to be running Alex again since we had so much success with him in 2007."

"It's a real pleasure to have HER Energy as our sponsor for the Indy 500. It's an exciting brand and one I am very much looking forward to representing," said Alex Lloyd. "HER Energy has seen massive growth over the last year and I look forward to helping them grow their brand even more. Plus, with having a pink car and firesuit, no one will be able to miss me. I look forward to a great month."

Lloyd won the Firestone Indy Lights title in dominating fashion in 2007, setting series records for victories (8), consecutive victories (5) and top-five finishes (13). His 171-point margin over second place was also the largest in Indy Lights history and his 10 career Indy Lights wins are the most in the seven year history of the series. Lloyd, a native of Manchester, England, participated in his first Indianapolis 500 in 2008 where he started 19th and finished the race in 25th which is his only IndyCar Series start. He also holds the distinction of being the only driver to ever win on both the speedway’s road course (Indy Lights, 2006) and oval (Indy Lights, 2007) layouts.

"We are very pleased to not only partner with HER Energy but also with Sam Schmidt Motorsports in order to provide a quality car and team for Alex," said Chip Ganassi Racing Teams President Steve Lauletta. "In HER Energy we get another partner that is excited to be affiliated with the IndyCar Series and that can't wait to roll up their sleeves and begin to activate their sponsorship."
