Grand Prix Ball Returns To Long Beach
Attended by celebrities and professional drivers, the Grand Prix Foundation-hosted event will begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center.
The dinner and dance will feature silent and live auctions with a number of items up for bid, including a chance to drive in next year’s Toyota Professional/Celebrity race.
“The charity ball has been a long-term part of race week," said Grand Prix Foundation President Rick DuRee in a press release. “And we couldn’t think of a better time to restart the ball as our cornerstone for supporting our designated charities."
This is the 35th Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach and features the reunification of the Champ Car and Indy Car open wheel racing series.
Well-known drivers including Danica Patrick, Marco Andretti and Dario Franchitti will take part of the race weekend.
The beneficiaries of this year’s charity ball will include the Miller Children’s Hospital at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, Special Olympics of Long Beach and the Aquarium of the Pacific’s youth education program, among others.
Cost to attend the ball is $150 per person. The Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center is at 300 E. Ocean Blvd.
