ALMS impressions from Chris Hall

In the traditional sense, Chris Hall is one of those drivers who wasn’t quite a rookie in 2008. Oh sure, it was his first full season of competition in the American Le Mans Series but the British-born driver came into the season with plenty of experience from stock cars, sprint cars, open-wheel and sports cars. Having just finished the season with Primetime Race Group’s Dodge Viper Competition Coupe in GT2, Hall shared a few insights on his now completed first season.

First impressions
“It has been awhile since I have been involved with an international racing series, and I am blown away at the professionalism and magnitude of the American Le Mans Series. The competition is fierce which I really enjoyed. Racing during the 10th year anniversary is an unforgettable memory which I feel blessed to be apart of. Competing in the Series reconnected me with a number of my old racing buddies from the UK which resurfaced a lot of great memories from my previous racing career."

Favorite stop
“Overall I would say Petit Le Mans. Road Atlanta immediately became my home track when I moved over from UK. Petit Le Mans brought back a lot of memories such as teaching the Panoz Racing School and competitively racing on many levels at Road Atlanta. However, the 12 Hours of Sebring was another big event for myself and the team. Sebring was a true test to my endurance which I really enjoyed. The fifth place finish for Primetime was a great way to kick-off the 2008 racing season."

Educational experience
“I have been racing such a long time, and technology is always changing, so from a racing standpoint there is always a lot that can be learned. I can honestly say the most important thing I learned was more about what goes on outside of the cockpit. The 2008 season taught me how important it is as a driver to represent the teams, sponsors and the Series outside of the racing venues. Promoting Primetime and the Series played a significant role in our growth, building our brand and expanding our reach to potential sponsors."

I can’t wait for…
“Sebring. The 12 Hours holds a prestigious reputation and is such a big event for the Series. It is a great way to start the season."
