Mosley slams biased British press amid penalty furor

(GMM) Max Mosley at Monza lashed out at what he perceives to be bad reporting by the British media.

Following the sex scandal, his attitude towards what he describes as "gutter press" is well known.

But he also turned his attention to British F1 journalists, who have openly questioned Lewis Hamilton's Spa-Francorchamps penalty, including the fact that stewards' advisor Alan Donnelly has in the past done private work for Ferrari.

"I am sorry to have to say this but I think the British press have gone into complete hysteria over this matter," Mosley, the controversial president of F1's governing body FIA, said on a rare visit to a grand prix paddock on Friday.

He said British newspapers seem "utterly incapable" of presenting a balanced view on the issue.

"The proof of that is the fact that five drivers sat in the press conference yesterday and expressed a view of what happened in Belgium. That view does not accord with the view of the British press.

"I have just been through the cuttings and did not find one single mention of that press conference," Mosley added.
