Mosley still planning to step down next year

(GMM) In the wake of the sex scandal, Max Mosley has reinforced his intention to step down as FIA president at the end of his current term.

The 68-year-old Briton won the right to continue in the role at the FIA confidence vote in June, but he has always said he will nonetheless not stay beyond October of next year.

On the eve of the vote, however, Bernie Ecclestone warned that if Mosley survived the scandal, "he will run again".

"I am 100 per cent certain about that; no, one million per cent certain," the F1 chief executive said.

But speaking in Monaco on Tuesday, Mosley said his plans to go next year are still on track.

"I don't want to stand again in 2009 because I don't want to go to work every day," he said.

"I don't feel old but I feel that there is more to life," Mosley added.
