Audi rejects latest F1 rumors

(GMM) Luxury German carmaker Audi has issued a clear denial to speculation linking it with a formula one foray in the near future.

The recent management appointment at Volkswagen, Audi's parent, of former grand prix driver Hans-Joachim Stuck, spurred rumors that either marque could be preparing to take up pit lane's twelfth and final garage spot.

But Wolfgang Ullrich, Audi sport boss, answered: "Formula one is not a subject that we have discussed.

"We have a defined motor sports program," he told Eurosport MotorMagazin, "with the marketing and product aspects fully covered."
