Braun Racing adds Dollar General as sponsor

Dollar General officials announced Wednesday it was moving its Nationwide Series sponsorship to Braun Racing for 2008. Dollar General spent two seasons as primary sponsor of Kevin Harvick Inc.'s No. 77.

Dollar General will serve as an associate sponsor of Braun's No. 38 Toyota driven by Jason Leffler for all 35 races this year, as well as an 11-race primary sponsorship of the team's No. 32 and a one-race sponsorship of the No. 10.

"We are excited about this new working relationship with Braun Racing as well as with their stable of great sponsors," said Monty Bailey, Dollar General's motorsports manager. "What Braun Racing has accomplished as an independent in a series dominated by the big Sprint Cup Series teams is quite admirable. They are true competitors, and we look forward to supporting their efforts that will hopefully lead to even more victories next season."

Leffler was one of three non-Cup drivers to win in 2007, and Braun was one of two independent Busch teams to win last year. The other was KHI, with Bobby Labonte driving the No. 77 with Dollar General sponsorship.

"I have admired the Dollar General racing program ever since the company first came into our sport, and it is indeed an honor that the company has decided to move its sponsorship and marketing support to Braun Racing this coming season and to be a partner on all three of our race cars," Braun said.
