Bernie to join Briatore in football foray

(GMM) Bernie Ecclestone could join in on formula one colleague Flavio Briatore's new foray into the world of English football.

The British newspaper Daily Mail on Wednesday quotes the 76-year-old F1 chief executive as saying he "might get involved" in Briatore's soon to be confirmed acquisition of the London club Queens Park Rangers.

Briatore, boss of the Renault team, hinted at the weekend that a "group of friends" would be joining him if, as expected, his bid to buy QPR gets the green light.

Ecclestone said: "Flavio has asked me about it and I'm giving it some thought. I'm just doing my day job at the moment but I might get involved."
