Alonso: You cannot pass in F1

Fernando Alonso admitted after the Turkish GP it's nearly impossible to pass in F1 (Will they soon be forced to copy Champ Car's push-to-pass?)

"The start didn't go as we planned," he said.

"To be overtaken by two cars and find yourself sixth in the first corner is not great and the race is a little bit over from that time.

"Also, you know, I was following Nick [Heidfeld] for 17 laps and now in these days in Formula 1 it is very, very difficult to overtake and you need to wait for a mistake from the car in front of you.

"Nick was very, very consistent and driving very well. I waited for the first pitstop and I was lucky to overtake him in the stop.

"Then my race started, but I was half a minute behind everybody by that point."

"I waited for the miracle, and that only happened with Hamilton," said Alonso.

"I only take that place to be on the podium. Third for sure is not the best result from the weekend."
