Drivers upset with Bobby D, Tracy

But what happened to series leader Robert Doornbos? He starts 11th. And where is Canada's Paul Tracy? He'll start 14th.

Both had other drivers upset at them yesterday and are quite happy the two will start back in the pack.

"I got blocked on the last lap by Mr. Doornbos," said Simon Pagenaud of France who qualified seventh.

"I guess he still doesn't get the rules of Champ Car," he added of the driver who was accused of blocking his way to a win in Mont-Tremblant by Bourdais.

MORE COMPLAINING

This day, Bourdais went back to complaining about his old nemesis Paul Tracy. To right, Tracy leads Ryan Dalziel, photo courtesy Champ Car

"It was really going well in the qualifying session and, like Justin Wilson said, P.T. was just playing a little bit again in the last two laps and, well, pretty much the whole run. But it was the last two laps that mattered," Bourdais said. "He backed up Bruno Junqueira and Bruno did me and that was that. It was the last corner, so it ruined the last two laps. It was a little frustrating because the car was great."

Two of the biggest smiles of the day belonged to American Rahal and Scot Ryan Dalziel.

"The whole weekend has been solid," said Rahal. "We're just happy to be a 10th of a second off the pole."

Dalziel stepped out of his car after qualifying eighth, saying it was an experience.

"This is by far the most difficult and intimidating track I've ever been to," he said. "At the same time, it's a blast and now probably one of my favorites." Edmonton Sun
