Al Gore’s son jailed

[Editor's Note: Now we know the Toyota Prius hybrid will go at least 100 mph] Former U.S. Vice-President AL GORE has been served a little bad news as he prepares for Saturday's Live Earth spectacular – his son has been charged with driving under the influence and possessing prescription drugs and marijuana.

Gore's 24-year-old son, Al Gore III, was pulled over by cops after he was clocked driving his hybrid Prius car at 100 miles per-hour in Orange County, California.

Traffic cops reportedly smelled marijuana coming from his vehicle and a search turned up less than an ounce of marijuana, painkillers and valium.

Gore was booked into cells at the Inmate Reception Center in Santa Ana, California, where he was officially charged, on Wednesday (Jul. 4th). Bail has been set at $20,000. Gore Sr. is a co-organizer of the Live Earth concerts, which were inspired by his global warming documentary An Inconvenient Truth.
