Earnhardt Jr. signs Adidas deal

NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr, has been working on an apparel deal with Adidas that could put his own line of ClimaCool wear in major sporting goods retailers.

NASCAR-related apparel and merchandise is unavailable in stores, but Adidas' relationships could provide a significant distribution push for Earnhardt's apparel, according to the Sporting News NASCAR Wire Service.

The Adidas deal is thought to be a separate agreement from Earnhardt Jr.'s new relationship at Hendrick Motorsports.

Earnhardt Jr. announced last week that he will drive for Hendrick Motorsports in 2008, giving that team a stable of drivers that also includes Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson.
