Alonso: McLaren favor Hamilton

Two-time Formula One champion Fernando Alonso has launched a shocking attack on his McLaren team, insisting English sensation Lewis Hamilton is getting "all of the help".

Hamilton took the first checkered flag of his career at the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday, leapfrogging Alonso to top the Drivers Championship.

The triumph clearly rankled with the defending champion, who offered congratulations through gritted teeth, hinting the victory had involved a fair share of luck.

Now Alonso has voiced concerns that his own prospects are suffering due to Hamilton, who the Spaniard claims is receiving preferential treatment from McLaren.

"From the first moment I wasn't comfortable with everything," Alonso said on Cadena Ser radio.

"It's an English team, with an English team-mate. You know that all of the help goes his way.

"I've understood that from the first moment and, well, I'm not moaning about it."

Alonso's comments come just a week after he actually benefited from the orders of the McLaren team, who warned Hamilton not to jeopardize a team one-two at the Monaco Grand Prix.

Now it appears Alonso may be worried at having to play second fiddle, although he insists he remains confident despite dropping eight points behind his team-mate.

He said: "I'm relaxed, I'm good, although I know there is some impatience for the way I arrived and how I am expected to dominate.

"I'm where I want to be and I have clear options for winning the title, which is what we want." Sky Sports
