Moulton denies bid for Ford’s luxury car unit
Jon Moulton, the venture capitalist who tried and failed to buy car maker MG Rover, has said he is not preparing a £3bn bid for Ford Motor ’s Land Rover and Jaguar luxury car brands, denying a report in yesterday’s CityAM newspaper. “It’s not on our deal list," Moulton, the managing partner of Alchemy Partners , said in an interview. “There have been no discussions. I’m interested only at an emotional level."
CityAM said Moulton was preparing a £3bn bid. Ford has hired Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs to sell the premier car unit, which includes Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo, the newspaper said. Business Day
