Canada: Kovalainen blows, Alonso slides
In perfect weather at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Alonso slid spectacularly on the spilled oil of Renault's Heikki Kovalainen, who will surely take a ten-place penalty for an equally spectacular engine failure.
The circuit conditions were already poor following a Formula Ford race this morning, whose carnage had to be covered by cement dust.

Jarno Trulli and Ralf Schumacher emerged from the Toyota garage after Friday's suspension scare, and Trulli completed the most laps of any driver without trouble.
BMW-Sauber's Nick Heidfeld was less lucky, the German returning to the pits with smoke coming from the rear of his single seater.
