Dennis in favor of night races
McLaren team boss Ron Dennis says his team are in favor of a night Grand Prix, and he thinks the required safety standards can be met.
"We are absolutely in favor, provided the races are safe, and I think they can be," Dennis told Italian Autosprint magazine. "If we must have a late night to race somewhere, we'll do it.
"The only problem is: what happens if there is a power outage? You could object that a system with emergency generators could be efficiently set up. But it's a rather costly matter.
"I've thought about it and I concluded that if there was a mobile, specifically-designed system, with its cost to be shared among the various circuits, then it could be taken from one place to another, avoiding the ugly sight of a useless lighting structure."
