Audi Changes Le Mans Driver Pairings

One day before the three Audi R10 TDI prototypes hit the track at the official Le Mans test day, Audi has changed their driver pairings. Mike Rockenfeller will now partner Allan McNish and Dindo Capello in the No. 2 machine, while Mattias Ekström will join Lucas Luhr and Alexandre Premat in the No. 3 entry. Even though we don’t want to start any speculation, this move could indicate that Tom Kristensen won’t be able to compete at this year’s race. Kristensen is still at home in Denmark, recovering from his nasty crash during the first DTM Round of the 2007 season in Hockenheim. While Kristensen is still hoping to be able to fight for his eight Le Mans win this year, Audi seems to start preparing their plan B if worst comes to worst.
