WHO: Alex Gurney, son of racing legend Dan Gurney
Driver of the #99 GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing Pontiac-powered Riley Daytona Prototype in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Special Reserve, with one victory, four poles and six podiums to his credit, including the pole for the 2007 Rolex 24 at Daytona. In his second full season of Rolex Series competition, Gurney is currently sixth in the points chase.

Gurney will be featured live from the All American Racers shop in Santa Ana, Calif., during a 20-minute segment of Sunday’s broadcast of SPEED Channel’s “Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain." Alex will talk about the challenge of the Grand-Am Rolex Series, his first-ever Rolex Series win at Mexico City in late February and preview the upcoming race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. He’ll also take questions from fans via telephone and e-mail.

Gurney and his co-driver, two-time Toyota Atlantic champion Jon Fogarty, will compete in Round Five of the Rolex Sports Car Series, the Road & Track 250, May 18-20 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The weekend features the Rolex Sports Car Series, where Alex is a leading competitor in the championship, coming off his first Grand Am victory and four straight front-row starts.

WHAT: “Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain" is SPEED Channel’s flagship racing talk show, airing live on Sunday nights. The program features veteran racing journalist Dave Despain’s commentary, along with insightful interviews with drivers, team owners and other motorsports personalities.
