Video: Save money with car sharing program

Consumers looking to save money, drive where they need to go and benefit the environment may have found an alternative in car-sharing programs. Rather than borrowing a friend’s vehicle, members pay a flat annual fee and then pay $8 to $10 every hour for use of a vehicle. Through car-sharing programs officials say consumers not only save money, they also help the environment. Research indicates every shared vehicle replaces an estimated six individually owned cars, thereby helping to reduce the level of emissions. There are 18 car sharing programs throughout the United States with 134,094 members sharing 3,637 cars. See video on our Home page.
