DHL signs on with Kalitta

DHL will be a new sponsor of the Scott Kalitta-driven Funny Car currently competing in the 23-event 2007 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. The yellow and red 7,000-horsepower DHL Toyota Solara flopper will make its debut at the SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals in Las Vegas. Connie Kalitta, team owner, drag racing legend, and Scott's father, is the owner and founder of Kalitta Air, a worldwide air-freight company based in Ypsilanti, Mich. Kalitta Air, a strategic partner with the United States Postal Service and the Department of Defense, provides end-to-end network solutions for all mail to the Middle East and Persian Gulf for civilian and military personnel.

Kalitta Air, in cooperation with DHL, provides mail transportation, security, and all terminal handling services to DHL's Bahrain hub, as well as other Defense Department locations throughout Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait.

"It takes a great deal of teamwork and coordination between Kalitta Air and DHL to deliver the staggering volume of U.S. mail from around the world, into and out of these countries," Connie Kalitta said. NHRA
